Conversations that Grow Teams: Podcast-Style Video for Internal Development

Boston Scientific partnered with Verver to create a suite of podcast-style videos and short internal films for their Inspire Learning & Enabling Growth Week 2024 and a follow-on series in 2025. Across leadership conversations, development tip compilations, and role-profile videos filmed over multiple sites, Verver delivered a complete content pipeline: from planning and on-site recording to fully edited video, audio, transcripts, graphics and highlight clips.

All media was created for internal use, supporting Boston Scientific’s culture of continuous learning, connection and career development.

About the Organisation

Boston Scientific is a global medical device company with a strong presence in Ireland, employing thousands of people across multiple sites. The HR and Learning & Development teams continually invest in programmes that foster growth, curiosity and connection across the organisation.

For their Inspire Learning & Enabling Growth Week, they wanted to move beyond slide decks and emails, creating content that felt human, engaging and easy for employees to consume on their own time

Goals

The Boston Scientific team had clear themes they wanted to amplify: curiosity, self-belief, lifelong learning and connection.

Key needs included:

  • Leadership stories in an accessible format
Short, conversational episodes with senior leaders, aligned with growth and development themes.

  • Content that feels relevant and relatable: Video Podcasts
A format employees could watch or listen to, whenever suited their schedule.

  • Scalable internal storytelling
A way to feature a range of employees—from senior leaders to frontline staff—across multiple sites, without overloading internal teams.

  • End-to-end production support
Planning, recording, editing, graphics, transcripts and file delivery.

Our Approach

Verver acted as a production partner to the HR / L&D team, designing a process that could be repeated and expanded in future years.

1. Inspire Week 2024 – Podcast-Style Leadership Conversations

We created three podcast-style video episodes, each with a clear development theme:

  1. Curiosity in Action: Unlocking New Opportunities
Exploring how curiosity opens doors, drives innovation and shapes careers.

  2. Believe in You: The Power of Lifelong Learning
A conversation centred on self-belief, growth, mindset, and the role of ongoing learning in career development.

  3. The Power of Connection: Building a Network for Success
A discussion on relationships, networks and the role of connection in navigating challenges and opportunities.

Verver supported:

  • Conversation and structure planning

  • On-site podcast-style recording

  • Camera, sound and lighting suitable for internal broadcasting

  • Gentle narrative shaping so each episode had a smooth flow and takeaways

2. Development Tips Compilation Video

To complement the leadership episodes, we produced a short, dynamic compilation video featuring ten employees from across the Galway facility.

  • Each participant shared their top development tip on camera.

  • We recorded in different locations around the facility to keep it visually engaging while staying practical and time-efficient.

  • The final edit was cut into a concise, uplifting piece that could be shared during Inspire Week and reused in later learning campaigns.

3. 2025 Role-Profile Series – “What I Do” Career Stories

Following the success of Inspire Week, Boston Scientific engaged Verver again in 2025 to create a series of internal videos focused on roles and career paths.

  • We filmed across four locations:

    • Boston Scientific Galway

    • Boston Scientific Tipperary

    • Boston Scientific Cork

    • A hotel in Limerick, where we recorded three Managing Directors

Each short film featured:

  • Talking-to-camera interviews
Employees describing their role, day-to-day responsibilities, and the path that led them there.

  • B-roll in their work environment
Additional footage of each person at work—used as overlays to bring the stories to life and give colleagues a tangible sense of “what this job looks like”.

These videos are used internally to support career awareness, onboarding, and development conversations, helping employees understand the breadth of roles and pathways within the company

Deliverables

For the Inspire Week podcasts and subsequent series, Verver delivered:

  • Fully edited video versions of each podcast episode

  • Audio-only versions for flexible listening

  • Cover graphics and thumbnails for internal platforms

  • Transcripts to support accessibility and repurposing

  • Promo images and highlight clips for pre-promotion and event communications

  • Edited compilation video of development tips

  • A suite of role-profile videos filmed across four sites, each with talking-head + b-roll structure

Impact

  • Human, relatable learning content
Employees heard directly from leaders and peers in a conversational, podcast-style format, making growth themes feel more real and approachable.

  • Stronger engagement with development initiatives
The multimedia approach helped Inspire Week feel like an event, raising awareness around key learning themes.

  • Reusable internal assets
Podcasts, clips and role-profile videos can be repurposed for induction, internal campaigns, and broader L&D programmes.

Conclusion

Boston Scientific’s internal media projects show how podcast-style video and short-form storytelling can support culture, learning and connection inside large organisations.

Verver’s role was to make it easy: planning, recording and editing high-quality content that fits seamlessly into internal platforms, while respecting confidentiality and time constraints.

If your organisation wants to share knowledge, celebrate careers or support learning with professional, internal-only media, Verver can design and deliver a system that works.
